Blast Information for Summer 2024

What is Blast?

Blast is a unique kids program at First Baptist Church of White Hall. It is a Vacation Bible School in the morning and a field trip in the afternoon. For the last seven years, we have combined the two events into one for Thursdays in June. This year we will meet on June 6th, 13th, and 20th from  9 am to 12 pm for the VBS portion. This is a free event with lunch for kids who have completed Pre-K3 through 5th Grade.


 We are so excited about our SCUBA theme this year! Kids will take a deep dive into an amazing undersea adventure where they’ll experience the ever-flowing, never-ending love of God. At Blast, kids will be immersed in the Word and discover what living water is really all about!


Anyone can sign up for BLAST morning sessions at any time and with no maximum limits.

What are the Blast Field Trips?

In the afternoon, our K-5th Graders will have the opportunity to go on a field trip to a different fun activity each week. There is a cost of $20 per field trip. We will be going to the following places this summer:

  • Week 1 // June 6th – Main Event in Little Rock

  • Week 2 // June 13th – Defy Trampoline Park in Little Rock

  • Week 3 // June 20th – Big Rock Fun Park in Little Rock

We transport children and leaders in our Church Bus and Vans to the weekly event.


How do I sign my child up for Blast and the Field Trip?

This next piece of info is very important for those planning to have their children participate our afternoon portion of Blast:

  • Blast Field trips are changing with a focus on making sure our numbers are manageable for our leaders. We are limiting the field trips to the first 50 children who register each week to ensure a safe child-to-leader ratio.

  • This will be on a “first come, first served” basis.  Once sign-ups are full, we will not increase the number to attend field trips, so be sure to sign up quickly.



Field Trip Sign-Up Info that you need to know–

  • Please, first make sure you have filled out the Blast form for the overall Blast program at: https://bit.ly/FBCBlast2024

    • This is a separate form so we can keep up with the numbers of those who will be there for the VBS portion.

    • If your child’s form is not completed at the link above, it will void the field trip sign-up.

  • The field trip form will first open to children who were involved in our Kids Day Summer Fundraiser and/or have parents who are volunteering at Blast at 10 am on Friday via a private link that is not to be shared.

  • Blast Field Trip Sign-ups will open to the public at 10 am on Monday.

  • You will need to fill out the field trip form each week and pay through our online system. Pre-pay is not available for future weeks.

  • The Field Trip Sign-Up form will close at 1 pm on Wednesday.

  • If a child is not signed up for the field trip, they will need to be picked up by Noon.


Questions you may have -

I know this is different from our last seven years of field trips and you may have questions. Here are some answers to some questions you may have:


1.      When and where will the field trip link be posted?

  • Blast will open to the public for sign-ups at 10 am on Monday on our FBC Kids Facebook Page.


2.      What if the form will not allow me to sign up?

  • This means that the maximum number of kids (50) have already registered.


3.      What if we miss the deadline or have too many signed up? Can I take my child and meet you there?

  • The event is closed with 50 children attending.

  • We know that there are circumstances where you will need to transport and stay with your child, please speak with Jennifer and get those events approved with her.


4.      What if my child’s friend cannot attend? Is there a waiting list?

  • We will compile a waiting list and parents can add their child to that waitlist by emailing jennifer@fbcwhitehall.com. Jennifer will keep up with that info and contact the family if they are able to attend.

  • The Waiting List will also close at 1 pm on the Wednesday before Blast.


5.      Why the change?

  • In our ministry, we prioritize safety and security, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the event safely by maintaining an appropriate child-to-leader ratio.


6.      Why must I fill out two forms for this event?

  • While this is a one-day experience, there are two different components for the day. We need to get the information each week to know if you are attending the field trip. This helps us with our numbers for the field trip experience.
